Laser Hair Removal

Encore MedSpa uses the most advanced FDA approved laser technology to reduce unwanted hair.

Our Laserscope laser was the first laser that the FDA approved to treat deeply tanned and dark skin, in other words, our laser is approved to treat all skin types. The same laser was also cleared by the FDA to treat Pseudo-Folliculitis or “shaving bumps”, an inflammatory condition widespread among individuals with thick, curly hair. The hair either grows out, curls and re-enters the skin, or curls before it grows out and becomes in-grown. The resulting bumps are large, painful and unattractive.

Hair removal and treatment of Pseudo-Folliculitis is realized through a process called Selective Photothermolysis. Laser light passes through the skin and is absorbed by pigment in the hair follicle. The heat generated by the laser prevents the re-growth of the hair by affecting follicles that are actively growing, leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.
Hair grows in varying cycles, so some hairs are affected during a treatment and some are not. The average number of treatments is three to six and is based on hair color, hair density, grown cycle and your skin type.

Schedule a consultation with Encore MedSpa to discuss our treatment plans and remember, no one should recommend a treatment package without first performing a “skin-type analysis” for you (always complimentary at Encore).
